This is championship week a lot of BCS bowl bids are on the line which means teams will be putting it all on the line. This week we are picking more games to watch because it’s championship week. A lot of games have meaning this week not to say other weeks had less meaningful games but this week will make or break teams, we still don’t know who will be in the national title game? If LSU wins saturday there a lock but who will they play? Probably Alabama but Oklahoma St., Virginia Tech and Stanford have an outside shot at the title. Check out a few games you should watch this weekend.
Thursday 12/1
#23 West Virginia @ South Florida, ESPN ESPN 3, 8 PM ET- If West Virginia wins they will get a share of the Big East title, they need UC to win so they can get the auto-bid to a bcs bowl. If they win and with an UC loss Louisville gets the bcs bowl. It’s going to be an interesting saturday for the Big East
Saturday 12/3
#24 Southern Miss @ #6 Houston, ABC, Noon ET- The winner of this game will be the C-USA champion, Houston has a BCS Bowl bid on the line. In Keenum has Heisman votes on the line also. Can Southern Miss play the spoiler?
Connecticut @ Cincinnati, ESPN ESPN 3, Noon ET- The Bearcats need West Virginia to lose thursday so and to win so they can get a BCS Bowl bid. If they win and West Virginia wins they will have a 3 way tie for the Big East title.
#14 Georgia vs #1 LSU, CBS, 4 PM ET- Georgia has rebounded nicely from their two early losses but this SEC Championship game is all about LSU. If LSU wins it’s no question they will play for the National Title.
#10 Oklahoma @ #3 Oklahoma St., ABC, 8 PM ET- With no technical Big 12 Championship game, somehow the schedule gods picked this game right for the last game of the season the winner will be Big 12 Champs. Winner gets an auto BCS Bowl. State still has an outside shot at the National Title game the Sooners would love to end that talk.
#5 Virginia Tech vs #20 Clemson, ESPN ESPN 3, 8 PM ET- If Tech wins they will keep outside National Championship hopes alive. This is a battle for the ACC Championship. Will Clemson spoil Tech’s BCS Bowl hopes?
#15 Wisconsin vs #13 Michigan St., FOX, 8:17 PM ET- This is the 1st annual Big Ten Title game aka the battle for the Rose Bowl. These two teams met earlier this year, the game had one of the best finishes of the season actually probably thee best finish. Wisconsin will be looking for revenge so the Spartans better be ready to play on the same level as the 1st game.
With only one game next week the main thing left for college football is bowl season. After Saturday is over everything will be itched in stone. So hopefully the games we picked will be good. Until next week, peace.
